St. Francis of Assisi: A Man of the Church, A Man of the Eucharist

Jesus Christ built the house of His Church upon the rock foundation of St. Peter, promising that nothing could prevail against it. Down through the centuries the Church has stood firmly upon that rock, sheltering countless numbers of faithful. Among those who took up residence within the walls of that house was a man from Assisi named Giovanni Bernardone, later to be known as Saint Francis of Assisi, who abandoned the wealth and carefree lifestyle of his youth to embrace a life of radical poverty in imitation of Jesus Christ. ...
